I have seen many water drop photos in the past and always thought - thats really cool so I decided to try.
I used a clear glass cooking dish set on a table with a table cloth on it.
The thing about water is that you do not photograph it directly - what you see are the things/colours/light which is reflected in it.
I found one of my childrens books which was brightly coloured and propped it up at the rear of the dish and aimed a 430EXII flash towards it in the hope of reflecting these colours into the water, this worked suprisingly well and more experiments will follow. Focus was set using a pen at the point the water will fall and the camera set to flash synch speed of 1/250. After many shots I had a few really interesting ones.
